Lake Effect Interview
Last week I had the pleasure of heading up to the studios of WUWM 89.7 for an interview with Mitch Teich of Lake Effect. The piece ran on Monday and is archived here.
Mitch will be interviewing Hilary Price when she is here for the festival and also Stephan Pastis when he does the Milwaukee leg of his book tour. I'll post links as I get them.

Saturday Afternoon is Sold Out!Second Pastis Presentation Added!
The Saturday afternoon events for the Kenosha Festival of Cartooning are Sold Out!
If you are a ticket holder for these events, please remember that one ticket counts for all three events - the panel discussion, the presentation by Norm Feuti, and the presentation by Stephan Pastis. KEEP YOUR TICKET WITH YOU THROUGH ALL THREE EVENTS. We will not be clearing the room between presentations but, if you skip one, you will not be able to get back in without your ticket.
Due to the overwhelming interest in the afternoon events, Stephan Pastis has graciously agreed to add a second presentation on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
We will not be taking reservations for the morning presentation - it will be first come, first served at the door that day. The Museum opens at 9:00 and the tickets will be available at the museum desk.
To those of you who have afternoon tickets and are picking them up that day, you can best avoid a long wait in line by picking your tickets up after the 10:00 presentation has started. This will also make things a little easier on the museum staff :-)
If you still are unable to get in to see Stephan Pastis give his talk, he will be signing books at the benefit auction Saturday evening at the Rhode Center for the Arts. The auction starts at 6:00 p.m. - we may be able to get in to sign books as early as 5:00 p.m. - watch this space for updates!!

Auction Art Has Arrived!
We now have almost all the art for the NCSF auction to benefit Children's Hospitals of Wisconsin and Margaret Ann's Place!
I cannot overstate the generosity of these cartoonists as they help us raise money for these worthy causes. As the art has arrived my emotions have run the gamut - gratitude, excitement, and awe. There are moments when I cannot believe I am looking at original art from giants in the industry. So much of my life has been spent losing myself in the world of comics and comic strips - since I was 3 - that seeing actual work by folks like Bill and Jeff Keane and Garry Trudeau is surreal to say the least. I must confess that I had Mr. Trudeau send his work to my house, rather than the museum, just so I could let it sit on my dining room table for a while. I can't afford to bid on it, so it was nice to have it in my house for 24 hours :-)
Below is the official list of work that will be offered for sale - there are a few changes from the original list so, if you are planning to come and bid, please go over the list carefully. Also I have made a photo gallery page that you can access at the top of this page. It has photos of some of the art as it has arrived.
